Sangam playlist for today, Saturday, July 19, 2008

Below is the playlist for the show this Saturday, July 19, 2008.

Highlights for this program:

1) a collection of songs by modern female singers

2) The second hour of the program devoted to ghazals. (Please be aware that the primary elements of ghazal songs are the lyrics, not the music. BTW, two of the ghazals were written by people that I know).

I am doing an extended ghazal set because I am told that the ghazal singer Ghulam Ali is in Minneapolis and will be performing tonight after Sangam.

Here is the concert information: Edison High School in North East Minneapolis starting 7:30 pm (July19, 2008).
